Jerry Chambless, Illum’s Animation & Creative Director, has been asked to speak at Ringling College of Art & Design’s Next Step Career Conference. The conference is held every two years & gives the students an opportunity to meet industry professionals & discuss with them the rigors of working in various artistic industries & what they need to prepare themselves for their future careers. Being alumni of Ringling, Jerry was excited to take part in the weekends’ events. He will be speaking on an Alumni Panel, discussing his career & various projects he has worked on. Jerry will also be a guest critic on the Portfolio Review Board where students get to have their work critiqued & discuss ways to enhance their presentations. On the last day, Jerry will team up with cinematographer & director, Mark Parry to discuss “The Versatility of Film” in a series of Round Table discussions designed to enlighten the students to the intricacies of the industry & enhance their perception of the career they are working towards.
Jerry states, “I am pleased to be a part of this conference & share with the students’ experiences I have had & skills I have learned while in this industry. Furthermore it helps me give back to my college; my experience there was phenomenal & I met many great artists who share the same passions I do”

Click Clack Jack is in the can! It has been a long haul for post production, but the animation, visual effects & editing have all paid off. The film looks great. Adrenaline Films in Orlando will assist in dumping out a high def BluRay version complete with a 5:1 surround sound version.
January, 2008
Jerry, Ryan Bodie, and Keith Thomas have traveled to Colorado to meet with composer John Doryk to work through the finishing touches on Click Clack Jack’s soundtrack. Jerry says the score fits the scope & theme of the film effortlessly. We are all very excited that Click Clack’s pilot is almost complete.
2007:
The Black Shield was accepted into the Hollywood Black Film Festival which will be held in Beverly Hills CA from June 5-10 & the San Francisco Black Film Festival June 7-10 & 14-17, 2007.
After spending a month in principal photography in California, we are back in the studio and excited about the Click Clack Jack pilot. "We have some amazing footage in the can and the actors were inspiring," "We could not have chosen a better cast.” stated Jerry our Creative Director. "The way the Florida and California crews worked together; everyone is expecting huge things from this production." Click Clack is now in post; Illum, with Studio 26 and Click Clack Jack Productions is working on the creative brief which will drive the distribution of the film. "Additionally," Ryan Bodie, our DP states, "our client really felt like we understood his vision; we were able to accommodate all the productions needs because we were servicing it through the cohesive talents of our sibling studios."
Illum Productions has agreed to produce the Christian film series pilot, Click Clack Jack. Principal photography will be shot in California in Sacramento, James Town and Los Angles at Paramount Ranch. Illum Productions will also produce all the visual effects and direct the distribution channels. "We are very excited about this production," Michelle Chambless, our Executive Producer says, "This is the type of project we believe in because of the values of the family unit are so strong and directly tie in with what Illum is working on for our children series." It is the dream of Keith Thomas, whom up until now, has been traveling to churches, schools and theatres telling the story of a train engineer from the 1870's who helps out unfortunate and lost souls and through generosity, kindness and selflessness,helps these people find faith and purpose in their lives. Click Clack's stories are told to children through a train museum guide who has a kinship to Click Clack. The series is driven towards children, families and the Christian faith. Ryan Bodie, the Director of Photography, will be co-writing and directing the film.
2006:
Illum, along with, Studio 26, is awarded a silver FLIFF for their visual effects and edgy graphics work on Gold's Gym Sarasota national commercial spot. The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival has been recognizing films and the artists that create them for over twenty years. FLIFF reels out over 200 films from around the globe including a World Premiere, several National Premieres and over fifty Florida Premieres yearly.
Illum's Animation Director, Joe Merideth, who also heads Chewbone, our sister studio based out of Chicago, has been chosen to work on an independent film titled "The Black Shield", the story of an urban superhero who is struggling with his role as father, husband, and crime-fighter. These roles seem to conflict so through the process of creating a comic book he hopes to find the connections between them. Illum Productions will be creating the CG subway train system that will blend with the traditionally animated characters. "We love these kinds of projects where we can collaborate creatively with different methodologies to bring an artistic vision to life and create an amazing world of imagination and possibilities," comments Jerry Chambless, Creative Director.
Jerry Chambless, our Director has been awarded 3 Addy awards for his creative direction on several initiatives including a county housing authority, a community medical organization and local service industry businesses with local enterprise company, Genuity Group.
Jerry's creativity, direction and visual effects on Goalkeeper World's international training multimedia training DVD have earned us a National Telly Award. "It is a wonderful feeling to see your work recognized by industry professionals. Being awarded just reaffirms why we love doing what we do and we are proud to be able to share this with our crew and clients." Jerry says.
The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies.
2005:
Illum has been awarded a contract with React TV, a broadcast company out of St. Petersburg, Florida, to create a CG animated mascot resembling the station's proprietary remote control unit. The mascot, REMO, will be utilized in interactivity with audiences participating in the broadcast channel's on-TV gaming network.
REMO will be helping audiences with game tips, questions & answers and a variety of announcement-type advertising. Illum Productions is proud to part of this production.
Our Creative Director, Jerry Chambless, has been awarded seven Addy awards for his creative direction with local enterprise company, Genuity Group whose clients include leading bank and mortgage companies, nationally recognized healthcare organizations, international retail operations, government entities and expanding enterprises.
The Addy's include creative and visuals for a city kiosk initiative, direction, animation, effects and design for goalkeeping training video media and design and implementation for a full marketing package for a tri-county services company.
With over 60,000 entries annually, the Addy Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition. These entries come in from the finest agencies, production studios, cable companies and corporations from around the world.
Humble Beginnings:
Coming from a successful studio environment, accomplished career in design, several festival wins and showings and fresh from an Academy Award nomination in the Animated Short Film category, "Stubble Trouble" for which Jerry Chambless was a technical director, E-motion Studios was founded. This studio will be directing its efforts toward the development of pre-adolescent children with social challenges and issues. To assist in E-motion’s endeavors, an entertainment service umbrella company, named Illum Productions, has also been established. Illum will donate a percentage of its revenues to E-motion to help fund this important endeavor.
